I hope and trust that everyone is in good health and are being safe.
I
was overwhelmed by the response that “Amelia got from my readers
across the world. I don’t go about score or downloads, but by the
email responses and comments posted.
This
time around I endeavour to go beyond the knowing and explore the
mystic world of make believe. We all sometimes need some make believe
to spice up the day. Thus, I tried to write a ghost story with a
happy ending.
Some
want a follow up on “Amelia,” but I think that all was said and
done. To do a sequel would not be the same as the first story. I
might try to do another. My editors are grumbling about a forest
sprite story, but I think that my good friend in the UK has done that
with a lot of success. So, I will let him go with his story lines and
refrain from doing it also. He is the expert, and you should read his
stories. Look for Tedbiker at Storiesonline.net He is a veteran of 129 written and published stories.
So,
the winter is drawing to a close here. The days are getting longer
and hotter. Still the flu persists and both my red head wife and her
sister are currently down and out. Both of them are barking better
than the neighbourhood dogs.
Speaking
of dogs, we, the Red Head and I are now mom and dad to a new baby in
the house. I do believe that I did mention the stray cats outside our house. Well, it seems like mama-cat had a kitten, and the poor
thing just had it bad from day one. All sorts of things happened to
it, and the last thing was when he hurt his right eye somewhere.
Either by climbing onto something or as we think, in a fight with
the big black bad cat that comes around from time to time to scavenge
food from the strays in our garden.
I
caught the little one, about five months old, and took it to the vet.
Option one: euthanasia, Option two: Expensive! Remove the eye. Softy
me went for the second option to give the little rascal a second
chance. Life is life, and it would have been cruel to cut his life
short after just five months.
Some
would say that to let him live with only one eye is cruel. Well, you
should see him now. Flying through the house, climbing onto stuff,
playing with kitty toys and just being a loveable, adorable, bundle
of fur.
Okay,
World War III did not last long with our other cat, and the two seems
to hit it off good. So, now we have two cats in the house. He is now
house-trained and know where the litter box is. The two cats also
share the food bowl, although each has its own food bowl and water
bowl.
On
the writing front: I am working on a follow up of “The Sound of
Thunder.” Yeah, yeah, I know, I know I said that I don’t like
follow-ups, but due to public demand, “Desert Rose” followed up
into “The Sound of Thunder,” now going into “To Cheat the
Devil.” Public demand is a cruel thing… Not that I mind. My
readers are king! If they want it, they get it. LOL!!!!
As per my new philosophy, I will write the story complete, before posting it. That way I do get full control and if I need to change something in a previous chapter, I can do it without anyone noticing it. Although it is a follow up, with all the old characters in it, the story revolves around a new hero.
So, for those of you that did follow the previous two stories; The original five Angels will be there. Mai-Loan the Vietnamese girl, also Nadia, the Polish girl, Darya, the Tajikistan girl, Leah the German Pilot, Olivia, the American pilot, and some new/old Angels like Dr. Angelique Rothman, Roxy, Lorie and the men. TC and his gang of ex-marines, Don and Dave (From the "Return to Sender" and "Stray Cats Hunt in Darkness" fame), as well as Ashwin Windsor (Desert Rose.). Of course the story would not be complete without the mystical, elusive "Grumpy Charley."
This time the gang is off to Somalia to get even with a gang of rebels. The readers wanted to know what happened in Somalia, so I had to write the sequel.
So, until next time:
Be good, stay out of mischief, be safe and blessed.
Bye 4 now!
